REQUIREMENTS

3.1 Item definition. The actuator is a miniature explosive-actuated
device for producing linear motion. It incorporates an explosive squib to
drive a piston a predetermined distance with predetermined force. A
simplified diagram of the actuator is shown in Figure 1.
3.2 Characteristics.
3.2.1 Performance.
3.2.1.1 No-fire current. The actuator shall not fire upon application
of a continuous current of 28 ±2 milliamperes direct current (mAdc) to actu-
ator terminals for a period of 1 hour.
