The flares or Mk 45 drogue trays are a delay type flare, designed for launching from aircraft, which produce a parachute suspended illuminating candle. The flare or Mk 45 drogue tray is classified as Class B Explosives \(Code of Federal Regulations 49 CFR 71-78\) ad IIC Explosive \(Coast Guard Rules and Regulations for Military Explosive and Hazardous Munitions CG 108\).
