3.
REQUIREMENTS
3.1 Inspection and manufacture. The flare or Mk 45 drogue tray shall be manuf-
actured, inspected, tested and packed in accordance with contract documents, Parts
List PL 2141527 or PL 2127899, as applicable, and this specification.
3.1.1 Preproduction sample. An acceptable preproduction sample of flares and
candle assemblies shall be furnished by the contractor. The flares, their components
and all materials shall be of a single type, grade, clam, size and composition which
comply with all applicable provisions of this document. The samples shall be manu-
factured at the same location using the proposed full production methods. The
preproduction sample shall not be applied as part of the quentity specified for delivery
by the contractor order. (Not applicable to Mk 45 drogue tray).
3.1.1.1 Subsequent preproduction sample. During production a change may
occur in procurement, type, grade, or size of magnesium. When an initial change is
made, the contractor shall furnish a subsequent preproduction sample which complies
with all requirements of this specification.
